About Counselling

How can Relationship Counselling help?

When things feel unmanageable, it can help to talk to an impartial outsider who has the experience to listen carefuly and make better sense of what is really going on.

Some people come at times of crisis, others may want to look at a specific issue or just find a better way to interact.
With many years of experience in Relationship Counselling, I can help both couples and individuals to see things more clearly and support them. Difficulties can occur at any time and sometimes even stable relationships can have a rocky patch when communication breaks down affecting closeness. At times like these, therapy can really help to solve problems and facilitate changes.
I am used to dealing with people from different backgrounds, cultures and from all sexual orientations. Marriage Guidance Counselling is helpful at any stage of life.

Each client will want to work in a way that suits them. Together we may explore early family patterns and how issues from childhood may be affecting current behaviours. Life stages and external circumstances will also play a large part in the reasons many people come for help.
Understanding and insights help people to alter established patterns of thinking and relate in better ways.

Time to reflect can alter perspectives and allow more suitable choices and positive changes.
Couples usually come together, but many people come on their own for individual work that may link to a variety of differing issues and circumstances.
Sometimes one half of a couple is reluctant to commit to counselling, but there is benefit even if the partner cannot attend.
